• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Hopefully I'm Doing This Right

this is [the only rp char i have]'s grandmother

,,,, it's embarassing, so I won't go into detail, but I'm happy about how she turned out. I wasn't sure if I wanted to shade her, maybe in sepia, but,
i am a lazy loser first.png

then her youngest son, or aka my rp char's father when he was a young man,

father char.png

and bada-bing bada-boom
Didn't want to draw what my char looks like b/c I might just end up with a self-insert (my biggest fear)
I am a grandma when it comes to this stuff. I hope my art shows up well.

That is all

Don't become the kind of artist who only draws heads.
You can only draw heads and torsos while still having a story in a piece, if anything it makes it more challenging. You have to make sure the expression really shows what the character is thinking.

Also if you're gonna complain about people only drawing heads, go to my art thread, I've posted more than 2 drawings and the majority are just busts.

And with negative criticism I suggest also adding a bit of positive in there. Like how the faces in the drawings are amazingly done.

Thanks you guys! These were bust portraits, but I should have added a little full-body in there :)
And I might not post non-char art because I'm still not that comfortable with sharing my personal projects :s

'Appreciate feedback!

Ooo there's some pretty coolio stuff here! Fantastic! I'm excited to see how this thread evolves.

:D I rushed the coloring and bg on this since it would seem awkward w/o, but here goes nothing with a full-body. I wanted to use the bust portraits as examples to possibly get regal commissions, but I decided it was fine to just showcase my fight with anatomy on this specific thread. :)

This drawing was just of my rp char as a kid and her favorite pastime of pestering couples

and here are some progress pictures:

Thank you!
I was hoping that it was more obvious the kid was tugging the grass, as she's trying to creepy them out (so she's just reckless) xD

I'm not trying to oppose your criticism, but I was just wondering if it makes sense that the lady was politely bending down - not trying to upset the other two.
Other than that, I do agree with your statement on the guy, I tried to draw him first because I struggled with w/e the background was (wanted him to lean on it) and then base the proportions on him. It was an experiment, but I think I should have based it on my sketches, where the lady and the kid were better done.

I think the background just establishes the setting rather than leaving a blank space, as this is more of a situation happening, rather than a display of a character.
If I were to make another full-body character - but this time which worked like a reference, I'd say I would like to completely get rid of the background. Reminds me too much of the make-your-own-avatar websites, lol

I was really inspired by MonMarty when I made this thread, and when you mentioned backgrounds, I realized that some of his colored backgrounds with shadows would be a better substitute for my idea of a reference, rather than leaving the character in a plain white space.

Thanks again :)

:D I personally don't know how to combine those two medias well, but I wish ya luck. :)

felt like making a small "doodle" ( does anyone else hate the word?) while listening to mariah carey intentionally for the first time ( i didn't get the deal in the past, but i got a kick out of it now).

anyway, this isn't professional enough to put in my portfolio, so i'm going to put it here

variations of red and grey are nice colors, but i have a horrible tendency to use them as a cheap way to contrast. whoops

Your art must be one of my favourites. Your style reminds me of FeelingFairyish's faces a lil!

Everything is so well placed and just a pleasure to see.. I envy talent

Thank you, celticwitch, and thank you, too, Rubarberry. You are super right about the hand and the lighting and aghhh... And I'm glad that I'm not alone on the white hair!
Anyway, I'm going to just have a brief explanation of my thought process . . .
You are correct about me trying to capture longing, I was listening to romantic music, and I thought why the heck not.
Also, about the pose, I originally felt like it was too similar to the other lady's, but I seem to be in a drawing-hips-and-thighs phase where it's too darn nice to stop, and I understand your feelings about seeming like a pervert, but I think it's great that the satisfaction is shared with something as seemingly simple as lines. :)
With the lighting, I might have been having fun, but, like I always seem to forget, I didn't decide on the exact place of lighting. TT

I looove your edit, and you're right about the humerus, maybe I should always double-check with my own body, lol!
Thanks for the constructive criticism, I really do appreciate it :)
