I recently joined the community within the last few weeks and I've been trying to get settled and such. It's a strange transition from other roleplay communities I've been a part of. I guess I'll start with sharing my thoughts on the server thus far, then introduce myself a bit more. If I've had the pleasure of roleplaying with you guys, thanks. The transition has been a lot easier due to those folks who've welcomed me open arms and have offered me great roleplay. Those of you who I haven't managed to roleplay with, I hope I can in the future and get to know more of the community.
So, this community is definitely different. It's sad to say, but most online communities are not as welcoming or as vibrant as this one. The former roleplay community I come from is very toxic and spending periods of time there longer than a few days tends to cause negative feelings to rise among most members of the community. Here, as I said, is different. As stated above, I've been welcomed for the most part with open arms by people I genuinely don't know, which is fantastic. Already I feel like I'm a member of a well established community and have been lucky enough to make a few friends I search for when I log on. The staff, in my opinion, are also very helpful and regularly available for questions on and off the server. In former communities, trying to get the attention of a general moderator or a position of equal responsibility is always a pain. You either get fast service or effective service, very rarely is it both. Here, due to the likes of @Bagley_ and @Vegemiite I have received a plethora of help and understanding about the server overall. So a special shout out to you both for helping me in my early stages. The lore on this server is immersive and easily accessible as well. The wiki seems well up to date, well detailed, and seems to have most, if not all the information I've sought. Knowing I can access lore without spending hours of my life trolling forums that have been around for 5+years is fantastic, so kudos to those of you who manage that and keep up the great work. I think the best part so far though has to be the players. Rarely are people on the internet as accepting or willing to help as folks seem to be here. It seems like most people in this community care very deeply for it and want to see it grow, which makes me happy to be here and want to contribute.
I suppose I can share a few things about myself now. When I joined the server I was Drone414, but now I go by Dromui in game. My preferred internet handle would have to be Skale, been using that now for about eight or nine years. Both Dromui and Skale come from Warhammer, each are an "elven" word that has some meaning or context to their lore universe. I am a big fan of fantasy in general, that being high, heroic, dark, or even modern. My name is Nikoli, but that's probably irrelevant for the most part since most of you aren't going to be using it and I'm a twenty one year old dude. I'm going through college at the moment, hoping to get out in the world and do whatever it is I decide to do. I've been roleplaying for ten years, I love it do death. Minecraft, forums, Dungeons and Dragons, you name it. Any medium is a good medium if the people care enough. I've been doing Martial Arts for a long while as well, it's a passion of mine. Aside from these things, I'm a fan of anime, I enjoy reading and writing alike, and Magic: The Gathering is an a-ok game in my book.
I suppose we can consider this a bit of an AMA as well. If you guys have any questions about me that aren't ultra personal or rule breaking, I am more than willing to answer them. If not, thanks for giving this a read and I hope you all have a great one.
