• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

The Guard Charter system has been roughly the same for nearly a year now, featuring two major pillars, being the Hightowers and the Vigilant Shield, and a minor third party that fluctuates between the Inquisition and a private guarding business. While this worked for most of the time, we have ran into an issue as of late where the leadership of at least the Hightowers is barely active, which is adversely impacting the members. With desertions and a very near month absence from both leaders of the Vigilant Shield, and the resulting lack of freedom of choice (essentially if you cannot get approved by the Hightowers or the Vigilant Shield, you're shafted and won't be a city guard), calls were made for a more open system for the sake of fairness. After all, Gangs can sign themselves up from groups of 5 members and up, while guards always have to work for either monolithic pillars, or get ditched. This decision was made by Lore staff in a higher up circle, and is mostly an OOC enforced change to break open the stalemate between the guard structures, but can also be explained IC as just a change in the way the guard is ran to allow more individual freedom and functionality.

As such, we are implementing a chapter based system where starting a chapter is easier than ever before, and largely meant to generate a "Gang-Like" management system that is meant to create gang-antithesis. There's a couple of things that will happen immediately:
  • The Hightowers will most likely disband. I've indirectly presumed from the currently only active leadership that they intend to make a more tightly knit hardcore ex-Hightower group and apply for a chapter in the new system.
  • The Vigilant Shield will most likely just be adopted by the new Chapter system, but adopt an official Thematic conversion that supplements their existing rights to give them a unique identity in the system.
  • The Inquisition will most likely remain the way it is, because it was never considered part of the guard system, and already had a thematic conversion that supplemented their existing rights. They may however be renamed (or have their official name more popularly used) to differentiate them from an official Synodical inquisition.
Applications can be filed at this thread: https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/guard-chapter-application-thread.66771/

For the time being, guard permissions are not removed, but when the first applications start rolling in, we will be removing the guard castle access and re-instating the first approved chapters.
  • There will be some more mage-hunter anti-demon goodies for the Guards in the near future once the restructure has settled.
