• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Alright, I am so confused on the topic of sharding (and other things as well), can someone please explain in very easy English what the heck sharding is? I heard it's where we have like different servers, and we have 3/5 done at the moment... but what do you mean servers? like worlds as in Ithania, Ellador, Daendroc, and regalia or is it like we have actually different servers with different ip addresses? all answers appreciated, I am just so confused.

The Massivecraft Server is made up of Subservers that operate independently of each other but are tied together by complex programming that Cayorion (the server Coder) built. Each server currently holds like 2 worlds or so and can house 150 people or so I think. They are tied together so that inventories, plugins, stats, and factions can exist on all the servers at the same time despite them being independent servers. All of the subservers are tied to the Massivecraft IP.

EX: Regalia and Ithania exist on two different servers and thus don't compete for processing power. Players in Regalia do not cause lag to players in Ithania. If you travel from Regalia to Ithania your stuff, stats, and name all remain the same because of the binding of the servers to each other.

No, it's not a completely different server, it's basically kind of like Ellador, Kelmoria ect. Except sharding you can't talk to people in different worlds, unlike the worlds in Massive. Well, that's how it is on some servers anyway.

Sharding the way we call it is available to a limited degree on other servers. MassiveCraft should however be the world's only server network where you will not notice any difference from switching between servers.

mecharic explained it well. Massivecraft is right now around 10 separate server hardware, and each big world on a own server. All working togheter.
