House Yates-Varley is a Heartland Ceardian dynasty of humble trades but sharp insights. The family hails from Wervington, a province of sprawling fields and farmlands, ripe with a booming livestock trade, nestled in the marches of Dragenthal. Yates-Varley is a name mostly attributed to this, and expert admirals who have served with humility in the Regalian Navy. Their naval service is long-standing and colourful, ranging from marines to captains to admirals, but fly with their heads low, only wishing to serve for the glory and honour of it, rather than personal prestige. They've taken a dual lion for their sigil, a creature with two heads, sitting passant on a field of white and red. It calls back to their fable origin story, of the pair of Yates and Varley, symbolizing the two generous souls forever on their banners. It likewise symbolizes their recent political concept of Parliamentarianism, something very treasured by the former head of house, Quinlan II, showing the head of direct power, and the head of collective power, on the same body. In the castle of Faircliffe, the Yates-Varley family make their ancestral home, being a white-stoned forestress featured on the White Cliffs at the city of Whitcross. Haivng recently gone through a succession, the new head, Benedict Yates-Varley, a very young man, has made his way to Regalia, the capital of the Regalian Empire.

House Yates-Varley is a historical house of both Ceardian lore and real events. It's origins are claimed to be from a mythical couple of Ser Yates and Lady Varley, believed to have lived about two centuries ago during the Dragenthal population shifts. This couple are told to be from the original storied fleet of Ceardians fleeing Old Ceardia, and helped settle various towns within Dragenthal, specifically the Wervington Province area. Yates and Varley are said to have been married, and toured various fledgling towns, protecting and helping locals from evils, poverty, and strife.
Whether or not these two people existed is anyone's guess, but the House claims descent from them, their singular son taking the name of Marshall Yates-Varley, the first "Head of the House". This is the first proven ancestor of the house, but the family keeps their lore taught and strong. His offspring formed the aristocratic house, building up a booming industry of vast countryside livestock farms. The house's identity was born from this, thinking themselves providers in the form of food, leather, clothing, all things similar from their farms.
As the House came into modern times, they had heightened interactions with the Regalian Navy, mostly due to their access to the sea through various ports of Wervington, commonly referred to as The White Cliffs. They are called such due to their stark white appearance, which is caused by the cliffs being comprised of exposed chalk. The family capital was established here, featuring the city of Whitcross and the fortress of Faircliffe. The city overlooks both the sea on the south side, and to the north, west, and east, vast countryside plains with herding and roaming livestock.
Into modern times, plague struck Wervington, killing off many before it subsided. Among the casualties were the current head of house's sons, Edward and John, leaving a young son, Benedict, as the sole heir. Quinlan Yates-Varley, the patriarch, died some years after, leaving control of the family to young Benedict and his Council, headed by Benedict's uncle, Lord Francis. Some years later, the family was ushered into the current years of the Regalian Empire.

- Quinlan II George Yates-Varley [Deceased] [b. 256 / d. 304] | Quinlan II was Benedict's father and predecessor, as former head of House Yates-Varley. He oversaw the reformation of the family lands to empower local elites, and sponsored the current family ideology of Constitutional Monarchy and Parliamentarianism. He had brought his first son, Edward, up to follow in his footsteps, before tragically losing both him and his second son, John, to a horrible plague. He lost his will to live over the next few years, before eventually dying of illness prematurely, at the age of 48.
- Adele Yates-Varley née d'Ferrier [50] [b. 257]
- Edward Joffery Yates-Varley [Deceased to Plague] [b. 274 / d. 300] | Edward was his father's son in every way, being his spitting image and champion of his ideals. Well educated, well spoken, and a talented tourney knight, great things were expected from him. He however, died in 300 A.C. during a bout of plague hitting Wervington.
- John Albert Yates-Varley [Deceased to Plague] [b. 277 / d. 300] | John was a skilled graduate of the Regalian Admiralty, and poised to take over command of the Wervington ships, and prop up his brother Edward's eventual rule. Like him though, he also perished in the plague that hit Wervington.
- Benedict II Virgil Yates-Varley @Mooffins [25] [b. 282] | Benedict is the third son of Quinlan II, as well as the surviving heir. Outliving his brothers past the Wervington Plague, he became his father's heir apparent in 300 A.C., before Quinlan died merely 4 years later.
- Adele Yates-Varley née d'Ferrier [50] [b. 257]
- Francis Parke Yates-Varley [48] [b. 259] | Francis is a skilled, effective statesman, successfully leading the Privy Council of Wervington for years. He historically worked closely with his brother Quinlan II in reforming local government, and cutting deals with local barons and mayors after the wake of the Drachenwald Crisis, to preserve the Yates-Varley status as elites.
- Margaret Yates-Varley née Kaylock [45] [b. 262]
- Mary Anne Yates-Varley [29] [b. 278]
- Possible Marriage and/or offspring determinable by player.
- Calvin Bartholomew Yates-Varley [25] [b. 282]

- Elizabeth Francine Yates-Varley [20] [b. 287]
- Mary Anne Yates-Varley [29] [b. 278]
- Margaret Yates-Varley née Kaylock [45] [b. 262]
- Henry Laurent Yates-Varley @Canaanite [45] [b. 262] | Henry is a skilled tactician, general, commander, and swordsman in his own right. A loyal and staunch upholder of the honour of the family, Henry carries the family banner in times of war, running ground affairs in tandem with his Admiral Nephew.
