From the Office of the Grand Bellator and the Kade Court, I, Mordred Howlester present to you a set of instructions for both guards a civilians alike to best defend yourself against the Vampire blight that has smeared itself across the streets of our good city. This Public Statement will be delivered to all corners of the Holy City to ensure the spread of crucial knowledge within. Only recently, everyone from Guard Commanders to innocent citizens to brave guardsman have fallen to the rising vampire menace. Only through vigilance and knowledge may we persevere.
With that in mind, what follows is a helpful list to ensure your survival, against this vampire plague.
1. "The Best Defense is a Good Offense, -and- Defense!" Armor should be worn at all costs, especially thick leather, as mobility is crucial against Vampires, but if legally possible, heavy full armour does prove effective. Crushing weapons such as greatswords, maces, clubs, and even axes are advised, Vampires are seemingly resistant against slicing and piercing. When lacking a suitable weapon, a 12-inch Rechthelm Blade, or smaller dagger, is recommended to be carried at all times.
2. "The afterlife is not a state to be feared" Arm yourself with what scum finds revolting. Faith Bangles in contact with your skin offer one time defence against vampire infection, they should be worn at all times, your clothes should be adorned with symbols of unionism, your doors and windows should marked with The Eye of Unionism. Weapons engraved in holy symbols are advised, anything that may prove a distraction.
3. "A Holy Water a day keeps the Vampires away" Vampires are weak to holy water. Due to the 24 hour limit on drawing Holy Water lest it lose its potency, it is suggested to make several daily trips to the Unionist Sancella Temples. Even now Scholars are determining other uses for this most potent Holy Water. If you are an adventurous experimenter and discover something, contact your nearest Guard Commander at once!
At this time more than any other, the Regalian Empire is need of able bodied and able minded men and women to serve it in their many Guard Chapters. If you feel you are up to the task, recruit up with one of the Chapters below. And in the words of the Seventh Creed let us not forget these words, "It is not hatred we should harbor for those who have lost the way."

Finally, the best defence against Vampires is to simply run! Just run away and find the appropriate authorities. But if you are a Guard, and are considering another day of chatting and playing at tea, be warned! There is a war on, and the losers will be the vampire menace. For the Empire!!
