Pinned up on all of the relevant noticeboards in the city was the following letter, which in turn would have turned up at every Noble estate in the city soon after:

To whom it may concern,

The following families are being placed on a Notice of Trial for failure to meet State Tax requirements during a time of war and need for our great Empire; these being the Noble House Von Duerr, House Tyrannian, House Norwood and House Wolfzahn. We empathise with these families, as one can only assume oversight or inability to afford the cost of helping our troops abroad succeed in their quest to destroy the Elven threat, but the Law is the Law. The trial for House Von Duerr will take place on Saturday the 24th. Settlement before that time will nullify this call to Action. The remaining two Houses will be called to answer for their failure in dates proceeding this trial, to be announced. Prosecution will rest on the shoulders of the Finance Minister in conjunction with the Hightower Order.

Good Citizen's of the Crown Isle,
It is of wondrous news that the gracious House Von Duerr has amended their Tax numbers, a testament to their patriotism and innocence, but also to their slight oversight to the bureaucracy which no doubt was caused by the copious amount of work the Duke von Duerr puts in at his local clinic. The judiciary therefore is dropping the charges against House Von Duerr and in turn, calls the next House, House Wolfzahn to Court to answer for their failure to increase their taxes in this trying time. The trial against House Wolfzahn will occur on Monday the 26th of February, to answer for their failure to perform their Stately duty. Settlement before that time will nullify this call to Action.
