Strife in the North
War continues to brew across the continent with new reports of limited conflicts and skirmishes cropping up in both the East and West ends. Recent developments in Goretaan lands in which His Lordship the Protector of Irole sent forth a force of over four thousand mercenaries to safeguard the native Highland Ceardian population from their Url occupiers. This proved fruitless however as Url aggression sparked a limited conflict in the region between House von Drachenburg and the Goretaan with a battle between the pairing states seeing the mercenary forces on the island all but demolished with prisoners forceful converted to become Urls.

The current set of events have only increased Url populations in the region with most of the Carnowayle population converting and calls to convert the entire Goretan standing army to Urls. A civil conflict of some scale is anticipated in the coming weeks in the region with calls from some outspoken Url upon the Goretan government for permission to orchestrate a civil war against the native Highland Ceardians population.


The War of The Dog and Fox Continues
What started as a limited conflict between a small group of states in the North-West has continued to grow into an inter-state war, now dubbed by this paper and all future issues as The War of The Dog and Fox until military theorists configure an official name. In Kintyr, Kreiburg forces withdrawn to lay siege on Veerle while Reinard forces continue their siege on Valtyr. The Vlissinghelm army, led by House Reinard has split in half to commence a pincer attack on an army of Harhold's banners. Reports have not yet made it across the Strait of Kintyr as to how these battles have transpired, more will be updated in the coming weeks.

House Reinard may have more on their plate than just the war however. Recent inaction in the realm of Magic Legislation has left political factions in the region discontent, with multiple riots breaking out across their territory by pro and anti magic factions. The general expectation in the coming weeks is that both House Black and Reinard will lobby towards pro-magic groups in their coming legislation, neglecting the issue for another week may well indeed effect their war effort with domestic civil strife.

Another effort by House Harhold and it's allies to change the tide of the Kintyr blockade since Lord Latimer's victory on the high seas last week has set sail. Both Ser Wolvard Harhold and Ser Edrick Black have been given command of some twenty nine warships in total to challenge the seventeen-strong defending blockade headed by Baron Latimer. The war effort in Kintyr proper is very much dependent on who controls supply lines across the Kintyr straits, making naval supremacy in the region a pivotal asset if victory is to be achieved, more information will be published in the coming week.


Trouble in the East
House Viduggla has sent a small contingent of soldiers to seize and occupy the Eastly region of Ustyeurt from House Kreiburg following the House's withdrawal from the Viduggla & Kreiburg Land Exchange of 7/9/308 in which House Kreiburg promised to secede the province to House Viduggla in exchange for 13,000 regals. This betrayal of such a contract has caused the Velhemiers to seize the island for themselves, sending five thousand men under the command of Ardige Viduggla to lay siege to the provincial capital while a small blockade of three warships will claim ownership of the surrounding seas.

Lord Kreiburg has sent a small armada of warships to intercept the blockade. A declaration of war by House Sorenvik with the Casus Belli of reclaiming their ancestral seat of Irvainvik has occured with a rousing speech to their feudal council gaining permission for full mobilization. We expect more Houses to intervene in the crisis, especially House Delmotte whom in recent months has profited greatly from selling ships and support to different Houses in their wars. We anticipate House Viduggla will call for a meeting around the negotiating tables in the coming weeks due to the sheer might of the forces against them.

New Mercenary Reforms
His High Eminence von Drachenburg has issued another Decree regarding the resignation of the previous Freisöldner Inspector; Ser Alberic Typhonus. In his decree the Lord Chancellor highlights ongoing issues within the city such as the large number of Knights acting below the standards that their respective Orders historically operated in. In keeping with his desire to cut unneeded government expenditure, the Lord Chancellor has cut the position of Freisöldner Inspector as a civil position, offering no replacement until such a time as it is needed again.

Mercenary Law too has been amended with exact wording on the obtaining of Mercenary Permits: "The rights of the mercenaries will stem from the contracts they accept." Indicating those who desire to become sellswords should inquire in a meeting with the Lord Chancellor directly. The Mercenary Keep's upkeep and administration has been tasked to Lord Harald von Drachenburg with the exact wording by his High Eminence stipulating that Knightly Orders and Mercenary Organisations may still make use of the location for training. Reports will continue as to the perception and effectiveness of this decree in the following weeks.

Alaric Keen stumbles down his garden's walkway, peering up at the many clouds and familiar scorching sun. With one deep breath, the Ailor felt at ease. Slowly, he pulled out the newspaper that he had only recieved hours before, opening it with a new peace of mind. Scanning down at its many words, Alaric searched for a nearby bench, taking a seat so that he could read. After another inhale and exhale, the man read the several paragraphs.

"Look at that. A new reliable newspaper."

Alaric took out a pen quickly and wrote a letter to the boulevard's pigeon, subscribing. He also inquires for more pictures.

Aneair of Basta walks down the street, glancing around his surroundings of the familiar flowers and trees of Regalia. Soon, a strong gust of wind came, and a paper blew forth, hitting his feet. He crouched down, and lifted the paper- the 'Boulevards Pigeon Issue One.' Aneair then made his way to a nearby pillar, which he leaned on, opening the issue. He read through it, a brow perking.

".. This is well written." he muttered to himself.

Soon after, he concluded his walk. Once he reached his household, he walked up the walkway and to his door. He opened it, walked inside, shut it, and the first thing he went to was his dining table. He took out a simple parchment to write on, and a black ink pen. He then penned a letter to the 'Boulevards Pigeon,' and subscribed.

Oliviann Weismann brought the paper up to read, giving a soft sigh reading over the new trading company. However, the New Regalian woman lifted up her pen and subscribed. "At least there is a good news paper now.."

Violetta Belle de Piedmont promptly picked up the paper and barely overlooked it before seeing her Fathers company. Giving off a quick and excited laugh, the brunette woman spun around with the news paper close to her chest. "Oh! I wonder if we can make it onto a nice head liner one day!" Violetta picked up quite the large pink feathery pen and dipped it into her ink, quickly subscribing to the paper.

Haeddi Harhold took the newspaper as it was delivered to her by her handmaid. She flipped through it with a perked brow before commenting, "Maybe we finally have another winner for a good paper? Interesting." Although, she didn't write in a subscription, waiting to see if the paper kept up with its good editions before bothering with such.

The Qadir's eyes look over the sixth article in the newsletter. A draft of smoke arises from his mouth as his eyes bounced from word after word, his two hands clutching the sides of the mass-produced paper. After reading the portion pertinent to him, he'd bring the newspaper to a close, and tucked it under the covers of his coat.

While the Url dragged out this last sip from his drink, he continued to read the paper in front of himself. It was always the same section, over, and over, and over again.

After a time of thought, his cold gaze looks upon the burning hearth in front of himself while the ire within it not only reflected, it pierced his mind. Penning a letter, Quin would subscribe to the paper before rising to his feet. There was work to be done.

Maximilien de Piedmont glanced over the first issue, taking another puff of pipe smoke as he read its contents. A smile came across his face as he read the advertisement of his company.

"A good investment. Ill be sure to subscribe, though let's first see who seeks out my company for contract."

Erika Nowotny simply placed a gloved finger on the paper and began reading, periodically letting out feint hums as she bobbed her head. In doing so she'd gently remove the green tinted sunglasses, folding them and setting them aside. "Interesting." She'd say in a bland tone of voice, nodding her head once more before picking up her opened book. Perhaps she'd subscribe another time.

Milena du Brierüst squints at the page as it comes in, then picks it up. Sipping her tea in the other hand, her eyes flick across the page- and she nods slowly, pleased by the content. "I'm glad someone's taken the business up, mmn?" She pens in for a subscription.

Anika Kreiburg looked it over some as the paper was tossed to her desk, as she was known to like her papers. The woman read it through some before waiting to subscribe as she has already put her regals to poor investment before.
