Cold be heart and hand and bone.
Cold be travelers far from home.
Never to rest their weary heads,
Till the sun has failed and the moon is dead.

When the server first started, Jalapeno and I were determined to join our factions, Oak and Celetil, together with a road. Ended and Oak both had their own road connecting them pretty quick in the life of the server. Jalapeno was an amazing help with this project, and probably did more than half f the work. To my surprise, Verdandil wanted to connect their faction to a nearby point on the road as well. At that point, the distance from Verdandil to Celetil seemed amazingly large, but we made it pretty quickly. Soon Marty's joke faction joined in, being pretty nearby, and eventually I found that Brightshore was all but connected as well. Recently, I have revisited this project and now Wyvern is connected to the road, as well as a new faction, Dreamland. The road now stretches from the Northeast boarder, across two biomes and into a third, and is now halfway to spawn. I intend to continue this road all the way to spawn, and I would love your help.

Building the road, obviously, needs to be done. The first step is to dig an indentation into the ground, 1 block deep and about 4-5 blocks wide. Ideally it should also be curvy and irregular, not strait North, South, East, or West. The next step is to fill in the section you have just dug about 80% in with cobblestone, randomly. Ideally you would favor the center with this. The last step is to fill in the rest with coarse dirt and make steps out of cobblestone slabs. I've been doing all these in sections spanning about 500 - 700 blocks long.

Landmarks are also a great way to contribute. Little signposts, lanterns, torches on fence posts, or maybe a stone statue every once and a while. The occasional small house would be amazing if you really want to give the road personality.

Also, I need gravel/coarse dirt. You can do /tp Celetil and donate in the donation chests, or potentially try to put it in a chest near the end of the latest section of road.

Finally, you can connect your factions to the road! see where it might be running past your faction, and maybe contact me to request I have a slight detour toward your faction. This increases interest, which is totally great. You could even work on your own road networks around your factions if you aren't in the Northeast or middle areas, and eventually try to connect them to our's at spawn. Thank yall! =D

@Jalapeno690 Our part is done... it's simply that Celetil needs to figure out where they want the road to connect into their claims. :D

Oh the road again. I just cant wait to get on the road again.

@MokeDuck I'd be willing to somehow connect Novorra all the way over to yall. We'll be going for the longest road on the server

Black Mesa would be willing to aid in the road's construction if our faction is included as a destination in the road too.

@MokeDuck I saw you continued my road to Hisoka and added a road to Wyvern, good job, they look nice! I talked to MadamAires a couple months ago about continuing the road south of Hisoka and connecting to Garrod on the way to spawn, and she said it'd be alright if we built the road just north of their claim. Also, the Brightshore road was meant to connect to Halbinsel (Tyberia now apparently) when Mojave was a co-owner but I stopped due to him leaving the faction to do his own thing. Might be worth talking to Jae and see if he's down for having the road go out there, and it might be a good idea to contact Siose and Winterless to see if they'd like the road to connect to Arcadia and Argost. They're all basically in the same area, so it'd probly be best if we don't continue that unless they all agree.

In any case, glad to see there's more people than myself that wanna build roads! If you guys are in need of materials, just ask!

A discord was started yesterday with some of the above factions in it, the road network will go as many directions generally speaking, if a faction wishes to connect to it they can simply add on an extension

Right. Well I've been working on this for a while, just thought I'd tell you guys what my original plan was. You're of course free to do whatever you want, but trust me, you wanna ask people before running a road through their area or you're gonna have a bad time.

Sure it was me who started this project wayyyy back with the oak to ended then oak to celetil branch, anything that came after was a continuation of it, we keep building as it keeps faction members busy, especially non rp factions like celetil and my own, no faction so far has disagreed with the road near their land as the majority are my allies

Right right, I'm not sayin anyone's been complaining about this particular road network, but back when I was making the roads in New Ceardia, I made the mistake of not asking people before building a road close to their territory. To make a long story short, it ended in an all out war and I couldn't go outside my f home for about a month. Just be careful, there are some who for one reason or another despise the idea of a road.

War is good, god the gravel road in ithania even created wars lol

So just an update: I wasn't on massive last weekend cause I went to the march for life rally in DC right before the weekend. Apparently getting no school done or sleep for 42 hours kinda bogs ya down... who woulda thought!? But I saw Ben Shapiro, so its all good.

Anyways, I've dug the stuff needed for a road from dreamlands to the next landmark on the map. If anyone wants to complete it that would be great. Since the terrain is predominantly grass from there to spawn, I wouldn't be opposed to using path blocks if that seems easier. The next step for me is to actually connect Oak properly: I keep forgetting there's a bit of road missing that needs to go up the mountain.
