• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

When I first started playing massivecraft there were many factions that were old then but now these factions are still here and running full strength so I wanted to know how what is the name and how old your factions and then please fill out the pool if you think the old factions are falling apart or is just getting stronger. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!!

Bloodshed is not as fun as it was in the old days, but each day we are getting closer to how we once started.

I'm not going to fill out the poll because it is too divided. Some of them, for example Argonia and Osai, definitely had some crumble-age going on, whereas there are other ones that I remember when I first joined the server that are still here today, feared and respected by everyone.

I have been around for a while, and seen many factions rise. I have also seen them fall.
I have explored many ruins, and many soon to be ruins. Caerdia was full of them. I am actually surprised out of how many exist on Ithania. Its kinda cool and kinda creepy, walking through the remains of once great cities and fortresses. I find it both relaxing, and enlightening.
While there are many old factions that are still doing well, many have fallen.

It depends on the faction. A majority of them are getting stronger but each has gone through or is going through a crumbling age like every civilization. My current faction Draconem has only been going for about a month tops. Its very new.

Well, every faction I have led (Osion, Osai, Hisoka) has expanded greatly under my rule and then collapsed/faded when I left for various reasons (Osion because I was overwhelmed with life, Osai because I felt I wasn't a good leader, not yet for Hisoka :P). Hisoka is currently undergoing the expansion phase and I hope to continue said phase forever :)

So you are saying you are a more vital person to the success of the older and stronger factions?

I think the oldest factions that are currently active are Stormblade, Algaron, and Alamut. We're all still pretty strong as far as I know.

My faction was founded on the first day of 2013. Makes it nearly 7 months old. I have seen many factions around me crumble and fall. I have also seen many become great.

I am saying that factions are made and lead and populated by people. Osai under me grew and expanded until Argonia drove us from our home. Argonia grew and expanded until their leadership failed to control their officers. Alamut was mighty and noble until its leadership caved into popular demand of the faction to raid for luls. Factions are not great in and of themselves, it is the people who make, run, and populate them that make the faction great. And where the great people go, great factions will rise, and where they leave, mighty empires fall and crumble. That has been my experience on massivecraft.

I agree completely. I'll use Magenta as an example. It was once a great, great faction. However, most of the people in it became inactive and it all went downhill.

This thread reminds me - people should pay tribute to the empires of the old days. In fact, two warring groups of people should bring back Pristina and Serenum. It would be fun to see if they became huge empires again.

As far as I know, Vivamus is the 66th faction every and Alamut was the 98th faction. I believe they are the first and second oldest still-existing factions :)

9thLegion is faction 425, Algaron is faction 696, and Stormblade is faction 1747. (By the way, these are found with /money top silver [page])

As far as I know, 9thLegion is Badru renamed which was owned by koertge and was my second faction :D

i believe that the old thealyn has died, and yap has made it into a religon on the server.

I know for a fact StormBlade has been recreated at least once, and I think Algaron may have been recreated once.

Now that I think about it, Vivamus has been around for a long time. I can't believe I forgot about 9thLegion, though.

Indeed, I decided to try and resurrect Stormblade a bit ago, and I'm rather pleased with the result :D *Cough* We weren't MIA that long IllogicalLeaf

Huh. Y'all forgot Dovahkiin. Admittedly, we're not so big anymore, but we were around over a year and a half ago, and we don't intend to crumble anytime soon.

Yes, its true that we are one of the first factions that were founded back then, in the first world of the server, Aloria.
Alamut was found just a bit after us, but they were called "Nordics" then, if I remeber that right ^^
Surely we are not the oldest, this titles goes to factions like Pristina or DemonSphere, (does someone remember them? ^^) but as I know, we are the oldest still existing faction.

What about "Rhodocks" (Or whatever it was) Anyone remember those guys...?

If a Historian wished to write the events of Aloria, this would be a good place to start.
All the name changes and change in events of faction and empires and such, reminds me of the Old-English history when the Vikings invaded, and there were the Germanic Tribes, then the British, etc etc.

Alamut, Vivamus, TheOldMan, 9thLegion/Badru, Sentinels, Algaron, Fuschia(?) and Farmlands are the oldest that I can think of. As far as I know, each of them are still alive and well standing too. I believe that many of the 'old' factions from the Aloria of Binral days are still alive and healthy. They're strong and still very well known. I wouldn't say they are getting stronger and stronger, as some of them are not.

However I believe they maintain a very high level of strength and dexterity. For any of these major old factions to become weak and crumble, you'd need a lot of pressure on their leaders, which I doubt anyone on the server can currently do.

IM not sure but, what about TheWall, TheEmpire and such? Just curious.

I believe "TheWall" is/was part of "TheEmpire" alongside "TheOldMon/Man" - and these factions were old back when I first joined a year and a half ago.

Just a question of curiousity, were "TheNordics" the same faction as the current alamut?

Yes, Nordics or TheNordics was the name of Alamut back in Aloria and Binral.
